It looks like, that you don´t know/have a MIDIJoy 2. And I think it would be great if you had one, so that you don´t develop something concurring. Ideally, MIDICAR and MIDIJoy2 would work perfectly together.

I still have some complete MIDIJoy2-Kits from freetz. If you like to have one, please just tell me and send me a delivery address. You can have it for free, as I hope it helps for the future development of MIDI on the Atari.

Thanks for the suggestions. It's true, I don't have MidiJoy2 and I've only seen a few videos. When creating MIDIcar I discovered the market to make sure it was missing a good solution for MIDI and ATARI8. I remember why I decided to be free and not rely on SIO or JOYPORTs :-) The main principle was to use as few resources as possible - that's why I decided to use MC6850 as the base chip for MIDIcar. But we know that hardware is half the product, so BeBe wrote MCPlayer directly for MC, but not much later wrote an SIO-based driver for MidiMate. So, in short... I can ask PeBe about the possibility of introducing a new driver dedicated to MIDIJOY2. If he agrees, I will gladly buy one (yes, I want to do that), and you can send the second one to PeBe for testing (as part of the remuneration for driver development). Are you willing with this scenario?
